Nintendo Wii Shortage For the Third Year Running?

Author: Missyrosa // Category:

If you are based in the UK, you may feel a sense of bewilderment when reading stories about American Wii stockists claiming that they could once again be short of the console this Christmas.

At present if you browse around most major High Streets in Blighty you will see a fair amount of Wii Bundles, 'Wii specials' and several Wii related displays peering out of the shops.

But a word to the wise, it may not stay that way for long.

Last year in the UK the Nintendo Wii and DS had sold out by November and there wasn't adequate availability until around February this year, Nintendo have reportedly only upped their production by a measly 20% and when you consider the huge success of such titles as Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Brothers not to mention the massive impact of Wii Fit the same thing could easily happen again.

It's a classic hare and the tortoise scenario, at present we think can amble along and casually pick up a Wii console whenever we choose, but if the past is any indicator don't be too surprised if come November Wii Stockists are displaying the dreaded 'Sold Out' sign.

It may pay to act quickly and if you are already thinking of getting a console then perhaps now is a good time to get some early Christmas shopping done.

The reports of the Wii availability (or lack of) in the US seems to have originated from games retailer GameStop, they may be trying to generate a bit of a pre Christmas Wii related buzz, but the fact is the console barely needs the additional sales push, it is already in demand, the problem is that Wii stockists can't seem to meet that demand especially in the USA.

It seems likely that the closer December the 25th gets, the thinner the supply of Wii consoles will become EVERYWHERE, and if you find yourself empty handed you can't say that you hadn't been warned - remember what happened to that cocky hare!

Guy Roberts has been brought out of his self imposed gaming exile by the seductive Nintendo Wii. He also helps out at http://NintendoWiiStockists.co.uk which provides a complete list of online UK and US Wii console stockists, as well as Wii News, Game- Charts and Accessories.

Can Nintendo Wii Compete With Other Video Game Consoles?

Author: Missyrosa // Category:
In the gaming world there are three major video game consoles; the Microsoft Xbox 360, the Sony PlayStation3, and the Nintendo Wii. Since Xbox and PlayStation seem to have cornered the market when it comes to technological advances, where does that leave the Wii? When first released, the question certainly arose as to whether the Nintendo Wii could even compete with the other video game consoles? After all, it was argued, Nintendo's console was a console for kids, its main characters were cartoon characters, and it shied away from anything with mature content. Because of these factors it was essentially eliminating a large segment of the gaming population. This hasn't been the case at all.

Surprisingly, the Wii has proven to be popular with both casual gamers as well as seasoned veterans. The reason is that it offers something for everyone, and does so affordably. Not only is the actual video game console more affordable than other consoles, add-ons and games can be purchased more reasonably As a family console, it has games that will appeal to everyone from the kids to their parents. Spending family time together just got to be a whole lot more fun with the Wii. Wii parties are common and have become a great way to socialize with friends. For the hard-core gamer, the Wii also has some appeal. The motion sensitive controller provides a different kind of challenge. So, the serious gamer can have the best of both worlds, with the Wii for fun and Xbox 360 or PlayStation3 for more in-depth gaming. Because it has focused on cornering a new part of the market, the Nintendo Wii is a force in the gaming console market. Maybe compete is not the right word, maybe the right word is dominate video game consoles.

Review of Nintendo Wii Sports

Author: Missyrosa // Category:
The Wii console weighs in at just 2.7 pounds and measures 8.5 inches long by 6 inches wide and is less than 2 inches thick; it is one of the most compact consoles currently on the market. It also looks great with a slick glossy white finish.

Best of all about the Wii is the revolutionary controller design which offers unique motion-sensitive game play options. The Wii controller works extremely well with the highly addictive and entertaining Wii Sports game, which is a simple game about playing Tennis, Baseball, Bowling, Golf and Boxing.

Tennis can be played by one to four players, the Wii controller becomes the racquet in which there are no levels, tournaments or unlocking modes to master, and it's just simply about the game play and having fun with your friends.

Bowling in Wii Sports is also quite simple in concept and easy to master. The basic movement of the controller is just as you would expect you now swing controller through, if you were about to swing a bowling ball. You can adjust the approach - from the left, right or middle - and aim of your bowl and apply spin to the ball by twisting the remote as you follow through.

Golf like Tennis can be played with one to four players. There are different levels depending on your expertise - beginner, intermediate, expert levels. Again it is just like playing the real game where you go from hole to hole playing the fairways and greens.

Baseball is equally as simple, batting and pitching are the only required actions. Fielding is handled entirely by the computer and base running is dependent on how far the ball is hit, not how fast you can swing the Wii controller. Batting is nothing more than holding the controller like a bat and swinging.

Boxing uses the Wii technology the best, with your the two hands on two Wii controllers, one in each hand you are then in perfect sync with the on screen boxer, blocking and weaving as needed. Punching and blocking is performed as most of the actions are on the Wii Sports game - by moving the controller.

Advantages: Nintendo Wii Sports is a real triumph, very enjoyable, suitable for all ages and very affordable with hours of fun guaranteed.

Disadvantages: nothing really...

Nintendo Wii Games Full Line Up

Author: Missyrosa // Category:
Through the days of GameCube, GameBoy, Entertainment System and the DS line, there was really little between the likes of Nintendo, Microsoft (Xbox) and Sony (PS) in video gaming. That was until the Wii came along, and then BANG! By now, few true -blue video gamers would dispute that Nintendo has clearly surged ahead.

Needless to say, the video game industry is highly lucrative and everybody wants a bite of the pie. To occupy pole position, the Nintendo Wii had to be top-notch as a lifestyle item. It is multimedia, personal computer, internet browser, communication device and most of all, the mother of all video game consoles, all-in-one.

Everything about Wii revolves around the remote controller and Nintendo Wii Games are no exception. Its motion sensing technology makes the gaming experience feels like the real thing be it tennis, bowling, baseball, boxing and so forth. So much for the 'couch potato' image of video gaming as the intrinsic specialty of Nintendo Wii Games is the players' movement.

Nintendo Wii Games are inherently played without clutter or restraint through its wireless remote. It is the tennis racquet, steering wheel, gun or bowling ball depending on what game is on. Coupled with the Nunchuck secondary controller, it truly brings Nintendo Wii Games into a gaming dimension previously unknown. There is even an adaptor that fits over the remote for those who are more accustomed to the old-version controller.

Game consoles are generally tended to kids but Nintendo Wii Games can be family affairs, they have the range. There's even a menu channel for setting up personal profiles called Mii so involvement and participation can be even and well-matched regardless of age, gender and other conditions. A wide variety of games are available spanning sports, action, fighting, puzzles, casino and others.

Classic and retro games are also widely available. For one thing, the Nintendo Wii is backward compatible to the games of GameCube and even Entertainment System series. 4 GameCube controller ports are actually provided although some of the old games can be played with the Wii remote. The media bay will also accept the old GameCube discs along with the newer Wii version.

The primary source of Nintendo Wii Games is the Wii games store. They are also available through the Wii Virtual Console. However, the pricing structure through these two avenues is rigid and can be steep in the long run especially for serial Wii gamers. That's why an alternative source of Nintendo Wii Games with a commercial twist through online download is getting vastly popular. At a fraction of the cost of the conventional disc, why wouldn't it be?

Downloadable Nintendo Wii Video Games

Author: Missyrosa // Category:
The Nintendo Wii has indeed exceeded expectations of video gamers, not least those who were actually making fun of it, mocking urination with the sound of its name when it first came onto the scene. Today, it is a symbol of being up with Joneses, thanks mainly to the video gaming revolution that it has brought forth through Nintendo Wii Games.

Riding on the crest of the wave, new Wii games are being churned out thick and fast. In addition to the brick-and-mortar retailing outlets of physical discs, Downloadable Nintendo Wii Video Games over the internet has also caught on strongly. This mode of acquiring Video Games is popular because it's faster, easier and much more affordable.

As with other digital products, video games targeting the tech-savvy market have to be inherently downloadable. Currently, they can be downloaded from various sources: Nintendo Virtual Console on Online Shop Channel, numerous peer-to-peer (P2P) torrent sites and professional third-party games download service providers.

Wii Virtual Console is the most bona-fide of all the online options. It's the answer to those who are not up to the fuss and fun of physical shopping. That way, it saves time and gasoline too. The product is digital so it never runs out of stock either. The perennial disappointment is that its pricing remains prohibitive.

If cost is the foremost consideration, Wii video games can be found free-of-charge on plenty of peer-to-peer (P2P) torrent sites but people are generally well-advised to steer clear of them unless they're willing to contend with the viruses, malware and identity theft. The downloading process is also often glitch-ridden.

Wii download service providers make the most sense for avid gamers and not without reasons either. For a one-time subscription fee, you get access to unlimited media, inclusive but not limited to, Wii video games for a lifetime with all the works of 24/7 support, service and money-back guarantee thrown in. What more can we ask?

Are you contemplating How to Download Games For Nintendo Wii, we can help you. Visit our site at Downloadable Nintendo Wii Video Games for tips and related information.

IPhone 3g Vs Nokia N96

Author: Missyrosa // Category:

The iPhone 3G is an extension of the earlier iPhone model. It has worked upon some of the glitches in the pervious offering. It was recently launched and has immediately garnered popularity banking on the iPod fame. It has brought the touchscreen phone trend into the market and now every touchscreen phone is looked upon as a potential iPhone killer. The Nokia N96 was also launched as a competitor to the iPhone. It hasn't jumped into touchscreen ability but has retained in working upon its strengths. It has come out with a unique two-way slider phone design to control its multimedia applications closely. Both phones are priced almost at par but they have their own differences and advantages over each other.

Looks and Appeal: Both the phones have unique appeal but the iPhone stands out in terms of the quality and build. The iPhone is fully based on touchscreen navigation and has just one button for returning back to the menu. This is a unique prospect over Nokia's traditional build. The iPhone's has a virtual keyboard which might pose a problem for the frequent messaging users. The iPhone is slightly heavier than N96 due to its build quality.

Connectivity: While Bluetooth synchronization is a common aspect in phones the iPhone doesn't allow transferring files over Bluetooth. It doesn't even support stereo Bluetooth for wireless music experience. N96 has both these aspects and also has an edge over iPhone by supporting video connectivity to TV, voice over IP and multimedia messaging. This limits the iPhone's ability and if connectivity is your concern than N96 is far superior choice.

Imaging: This is not really iPhone's forte; it doesn't match up to N96's superior imaging abilities. The iPhone can't even take videos without the support of third party software applications. N96 offers features equivalent to a digital camera.

Overall evaluation: The iPhone is a music player beyond comparisons and the whole experience of using a touch-enabled phone is a true delight. The apple iphone is locked to a service provider, this majorly limits their audience but N96 is open to all users, widening their reach. The iPhone doesn't offer memory expansion on both its variants but N96 has expansion capability over its mammoth memory. There isn't a better option but both are different and targeted differently. While iPhone is style based, N96 is utility based, one is music oriented the other is banking upon imaging. While N96 is an extension of traditional navigation and usage, the iPhone is a whole different experience.

iPhone Cect P168 - China's Improvement On iPhone Technology

Author: Missyrosa // Category:
The iPhone undoubtedly started a technological revolution and began a love affair with touch screens on mobile phones. However, most people are not as in love with the iPhone's price nor with the required high-priced AT&T contract that comes with an iPhone. With the IPhone you are forced to contract with AT&T for your wireless service. Very basic service is about $100 per month.
Enter China's CECT P168 iClone. CECT has taken the technology of the iPhone and improved upon it - so much so that Popular Science magazine calls CECT the "real deal".
The CECT P168 looks so much like the original iPhone you have to nearly squint to tell the difference. Plus, the CECT P168 offers all of the features of the iPhone plus bonus features. The P168 has three more speakers than the iPhone plus a removable battery. The P168 allows you to use whatever participating carrier you like (even your current provider). With an iPhone, you have the phone to an authorized dealer when the battery runs dead.
Further, the CECT P168 runs under $120 - sometimes as low as $100. This phone offers the features most people want - the touch screen, the ability to surf the web or watch videos, Bluetooth, and MP3 capabilities, without worrying about how to pay for all of it.
The iClone CECT P168 doesn't require any software. The phone will automatically recognize your network, phone book, and personal settings.
With features on par with (and in some cases better) than the iPhone at only a fraction of the price, the CECT P168 may well be a great way to enjoy the latest technology while waiting both for prices on the iPhone to trickle down and for Apple to catch on and add some of the features that CECT is known for.
Visit The iClone CECT P168 Product Review Website to see video demonstrations, close up photos, unique features and buyer information about the IClone. Rae Edwards is an internet technology researcher and freelance writer.

CECT I9 VS P168 - How This New Quad Band Model With Java Improves Upon the Original iPhone Clone

Author: Missyrosa // Category:
The series of events that took the original iPhone clone (CECT P168 ("iClone")) to its newest version, the i9 is pretty interesting. The P168 is still a very brisk seller and I still find it to be a great phone. It's so popular for many reasons, but perhaps the most persuasive is that its interface is very user friendly and at the time of its release it mimicked the original more closely than any other clone.
This original model was then improved upon with the CECT P168 Plus + or quad band, which added the 850 MHz band, updated the firmware, and improved the digital camera web cam.
Then, came the SciPhone, which was the upgrade of the plus quad band. This model upgraded these clones to include Java so that you could easily download and use third party software and games.
The new CECT i9 is the latest, upgraded model of the SciPhone. This article will discuss some of the improvements and features of this new i model.
Two Sims At Once: This dual sim model allows for two sim cards or networks with both sims able to be online at once.
Shake And Tilt Feature: The original P168 did not have the shake and tilt or "shake to the music" feature. This was later made popular by models like the A88 and A380i.
The i9 has this shake control feature which means that you can advance or forward music, songs, and media only by shaking the phone. The tilt feature means that no matter whether you have the phone up right or on it's side (portrait or landscape), the phone will right itself so that the image will always be up right.
Much More Memory (Up To 8GB): The i9 will support up to a whopping 8GB of expandable memory. This is huge when you are going to be downloading software, songs and applications via Java or when you are downloading music and video and you don't want all of this entertainment to eventually slow or bog down your phone.
Java Support: I think the biggest and most important upgrade / improvement with the i9 is the Java support. The original iClone did not allow for third party downloads. Having Java means so many cool productivity applications like outlook express, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel to name just a few as well as thousands of cool games available - many for free.
Price: Most times, the i9 cost a bit more than the 168, (especially an 8GB model), but not by as much as might think. While it's not at all uncommon to get an original iClone for under $100 today, you can sometimes find an i model in the low or mid $100s, depending upon where you look.

CECT P168C Mobile Phone - Here's the Features on This Quad Band iClone With Dual Sim Active

Author: Missyrosa // Category:
The features of the Chinese iPhone clones can sometimes get confusing. The manufacturers upgrade and roll out new phones at such break neck speed that it's easy to mistake one model for another. Many people mistake the new CECT P168C (aka the P168++) with it's inspiration, the P168+ (aka iClone quad band). Or, people confuse the C model with the S model (more about that later). This article will discuss the standard and stand out features of the CECT P168C, so that you can see how it is different from some of the other Chinese quad bands on the market.
The P168C Supports 850, 1800, 1900, and 900 MHZ (Quad Band) But Which You Use Depends Upon Which Country You Live In: Technically the C model support all of the MHZ bands, but usually not all at once. I'll explain. Typically, when you buy this phone, the seller will set it depending upon the country you are in. So, for example if you live in Canada, North America, or the USA, the seller will go into engineering mode and set the phone to support 850 / 1800 / 1900 MHz. But, if you live overseas, you'll instead be given a 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHZ.
You can set this yourself, but most times the sellers will do it for you. (I'd recommend letting them unless you absolutely know what you are doing.)
Two Sim Cards Running At Once: Probably the biggest standout of the 168C is the "dual sim active" feature which means that you can really have two sim cards, phone numbers, and plans / carriers running at one time without needing to turn off or shut down the phone and while talking on it. For example, let's say you are a customer of both AT&T and T Mobile. You would be able to use the phone on AT&T (talking, web browsing, emailing, texting, etc.) and you could then receive a call from your T Mobile sim at the same time. This greatly appeals to many different consumers who use their phones very often or receive a lot of calls, including executives, business owners, students, and even parents.
Standard And Bonus Features (Including Flow Or Multi Touch): Other than the customizable quad band and the dual sim active features, the P168C does have all of the standard and extra / bonus features or the "everything in one phone model" that we've come to expect from the clones. In addition to Bluetooth (A2DP), full MP3 / MP4, and the 2.0 mega pixel digital camera and web cam, this one allows web browsing, emailing, and texting (WAP, GPRS, SMS, and MMS). It also has handwriting entry, a voice recorder, and a stylus.
The manufacturer has slightly changed / improved interface. As a result, this phone is often referred to as having "less bugs." It also includes the flow touch screen (often also called "multi touch.") It's expandable 2GB of memory can serve as a mini hard drive as it connects to your computer via USB for easy document and data transfer. It has a standby time of about 150 hours.
I'm surprised that, In spite of the upgrades, this phone doesn't cost much more than the original iClone quad band (the P168 plus). I almost never see it over $150. More often than not, it's in the low $100 range, depending upon how much memory is included.
This phone generally does not have the "shake and tilt feature," (advancing music and media by only shaking the phone). If you're looking for that feature on this phone, take a look at the CECT P168S, which includes it.

How Does A IClone CECT P168 Compare To An IPhone? Better!

Author: Missyrosa // Category:
There's no doubt that the IPhone is on a lot of Christmas wish lists this year. The IPhone is highly innovative and much sought-after for its multimedia functionality, but the IPhone is also incredibly expensive with a $500 price tag and a required expensive monthly AT&T contract. Enter the IClone, or the IPhone Clone, also known as the CECT P168.
With the IPhone you are forced to contract with AT&T for your wireless service. If you want anywhere near 1,000 minutes, you'll be paying over $100 per month for your service.
There is a way around both the initial price of an IPhone and the costs of the expensive AT&T plan. It's called the IClone, The Iphone Clone or the CECT P168 (called "the real thing" by Popular Science) - and it looks amazingly identical to the IPhone and offers ALL of the features of an IPhone plus bonus, additional features like extra speakers and a removable battery, plus it allows you to use whatever participating carrier you like (even your current provider). Popular Science Magazine dubbed the IClone CECT P168 "the real thing" because the IClone CECT P168 performs amazingly well, is 1/4 the price of an iPhone and even has bonus features that the iPhone doesn't include. (The aforementioned the ability to operate on two different networks at once, SIX speakers, and a removable, renewable battery.) Seeing both phones side by side makes the IClone CECT 168 an easy sell.
Better still, the IClone CECT P168 runs under $150 - sometimes as low as $100 on eBay. This means you can actually get yourself, your kid or loved one all of the features of the IPhone - the touch screen, the ability to surf the web or watch videos, and the MP3 capabilities we all want, without worrying about the credit card bill coming or without having to threaten your kid's life if they lose the IClone. Basically, anything you can do with the IPhone, you can also do with the IClone CECT P168 - AND you can remove the battery and operate on two Sim cards. Take the significant money ($400) you save and do something nice for yourself or your family.
You don't need to buy or install any software for the IClone P168. The phone will automatically recognize your network, phone book, personal settings and phone book. Additional standard features on the CECT P168 are:
Ring tones Type: Polyphonic (64 channels), Monophonic, True Tones, MP3;
Music player: Support MP3 player, with mp3, midi, and wav format;
Movie player: Support 3GP/MP4 movie player with full-screen;

Memory Type: Support T-FLASH arbitrary expansion slot (256mb TF card included);

There are a few sketchy overseas vendors of the CECT P168, but I strongly recommend getting your IClone CECT P168 on eBay, because EBay offers pay pal fraud protection, the protection of the feedback system, and the competition on EBay ensures you get the lowest price. EBay's feedback system allows you to actually see buyer comments about the seller so you will know how many happy customers the seller has. Nearly all of the CECT P168 feedback is positive. You can also contact previous buyers to see if they are enjoying their IClone.
If you're not a current Ebay member, it is quick, easy and free to sign up. And unlike overseas vendors, Ebay is safe, secure and protected.
With features and specifications amazingly similar to the IPhone at under ¼ of the price, the IClone is a great way to try out the Phone's features while waiting for the price of the IPhone to trickle down. It's also a way to give your kids (or yourself) the technology they are hungry for at a fraction of the price. With the money you save (about $400), you can put a lot of additional presents under the tree this year.

My Review Of The CECT P168 Phone PDA - AKA the iClone

Author: Missyrosa // Category:
I've had this little phone since last November and I am loving it. I was swayed by an article in Popular Science that called the clone "the real deal" for it's solid performance. And, I'll admit, I purchased it as a way to get around having to pay over $100 per month from AT&T for an iPhone. Since new technology and new wireless plans are coming out all of time, I did not want to make that large of a commitment and I wanted the freedom to choose my own carrier. I also really liked the fact that it had a removable battery (which iPhone does not. If your battery goes out with an iPhone, you have to take it to the dealer.)
The iClone also has six speakers and has a considerably better sound than the iPhone. The price has come way down since I bought mine. If I had waited, I could probably get one now for under $100. For the price it is now, it's a great phone for a kid, teen or college student because you get the internet, MP3, camera phone and video capabilities for the same price as a very basic phone that doesn't have much on it.
In a nutshell, anything you can do with the IPhone, you can also do with the iClone CECT P168. You don't need to buy or install any software. The phone will automatically recognize your network, phone book, and personal settings. The features that I personally use most are is the full screen movie player, the music player (I download books on tape a lot), and the internet, but the phone has a full set of features (many of which I don't use, but like that they are there).
I've been extremely happy with this phone. For all the technology you get and it's very tight performance, the CECT P168 boasts an unbelievable price.
